A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck India's remote northeastern state of Manipur on Monday at 04:35 local time. At least 11 people have been reported killed: six in India and five in neighbouring Bangladesh. Nearly 200 more are reported to have been injured.

The quake's epicentre was 28 kilometres west of the state capital, Imphal, near the borders with Bangladesh and Myanmar. Imphal suffered the most extensive destruction, including deaths and injuries, but shockwaves could be felt as far as the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, and Myanmar's largest city, Yangon.
Facebook has activated Safety Check for the Manipur earthquake.
At least 11 people were killed and nearly 200 injured, the International Business Times reports, carrying images of the widespread destruction in Imphal.
India's National Disaster Response Force says it has sent two teams to Manipur to help with rescue efforts, while various media report death tolls ranging from one to nine people killed.
Media in Bangladesh reported the first fatality there and told of Dhaka residents rushing to escape buildings that could become death traps.
